Setting default view on the second sheet

Hi all,

I'm new here, and I'm new also on Inventor (3 weeks)...I'm trying to set up new standards for a company, but ther's something that it's not working as it should

I would like to set 2 sheet for my drawings: in the first I would like to have 4 standard views to be create automatically when I start a new drawing (and this is working), then I would like to add a "technical sheet" with another isometric view, still to be created automatically. When I try this the first sheet displayed works but the other one (first or second doesn't matter) have a red lightning bolt at a side and when I open it I don't have any view...

Another question: I don't understand why I have to choose the model for each sheet (and the windowed menu doesn't work properly)

I think I'll manage a lot of projects here and I would like to have as much automation I can

Any help would be very very appreciated

Thank you very much!

Hello @Anonymous,

You don't have to place model for each sheet and you can also set the view in two sheets and keep the association between each view.

Try this way -

1. Create the four view in your drawing template in sheet 1 as usual.

2. Create the iso view based on one of view which was created in step 1.

3. Create a new sheet and drag the iso view to sheet 2

4. Save it as template as usual

Here is a short video to demo the process.

Hope it helps!

Hello @Anonymous,

You might need to play with command "Replace Model References in Drawings".

If it works, then, try leverage the iLogic rule to handle automate stuffs.

By the way, what do you mean for word "project" here?

Thanks!

Hello @Anonymous,

If so, then, you have to switch to entire iLogic solution include create drawing, place view and create sheet, place iso view, etc. You can leverage iLogic to go through all files under a folder and batch create drawing and views.

Hope it guide you a little bit.

Thanks!
