I have been sending out drawing to a manufacturer in a DWG format & DXF format, but they respond saying the drawings are blank. This drawing was made in inventor 3D , then transferred to Autocad to be saved as an earlier version so they are able to open the drawing in 2D and can cut this plate out. (When I open it in Autocad the sheet shows the parts but the model is not existent) Any ideas?

Can you Attach the dwg and dxf files here?
It sounds like you are saving only the 2D drawing and not the 3D part.
Those are two different files (you could combine if needed).
Hi! Please also share the Inventor ipt and idw/dwg files. I would like to understand why the exported dxf file is blank.
Many thanks!
Does the drawing show up in paper space but not model space?
It should show in the model space in DXF, but if it's not in the DWG it could be because you haven't pushed the view to the model space.
Right click the view and select 'insert in model space'
You can only send one view to model space though.
DXF could be to do with your export options. Click options when saving.

What do you mean by the words parts and model? Are they not the same thing?
