You will need to send the files that are included in the IAM file. The IAM
only contains data on which and how many ITP and IAM files are used along
with their constraint information.

A "Pack & Go" of the IAM would help.

I was unable to open the avi, our systems are locked out of downloading content from 3rd party sites so i can't get the codec at work. can you attach the files you used? the files i used are too large even when zipped. i guess we could just use 2 rectangular boxes for examples...

Did you roll up the red End of Part marker in the browser before saving and zipping?
The limit over here is 15Meg http://www.augi.com

Dennis has an unlimited ftp site for large files.

Maybe you will be able to see this animated GIF. Quick 10 minute mock-up. I would concentrate on learing Inventor before getting into animation. There are several ways to animate depending on what you are after.

that gif is exactly what we need. It would be nice if INV could talk to 3DMAX better, I mean their only made by the same company.

3DMax files are little more than pretty pictures (thousands of faceted faces). They can be brought into Inventor but generally of little use for engineering analysis.

Search Google on Bill Bogan Inventor Studio Tutorials.

But I didn't use Inventor Studio for this (used Inventor Dynamic Simulation).
