SECTION VIEW ARROWS POINT AWAY FROM NEW VIEW

When creating a new section view, the arrows in the base view point away from the new created section view.  Our QA manager want the arrows to point to the new view.  Is there a setting that I can change so the arrows point to the new view??  Is it part of an ANSI standard that the arrows do not point to the new view?

Thanks!

The arrows are pointing which direction the section is cut, not which direction the section is. If you were able to just flip the arrows it would be wrong, nothing to do with ANSI.

You can just slide your view over to the other side of the main view you cut the section from if it's bothering them that bad.

I often have section of larger assemblies on completely different sheets than the parent view just due to the size/geometry of things. That's the whole point of them being lettered.

I can sympathize with QA requirements but that ones really picking the fly*@#$ out of the pepper lol.

1. Yes - set to First Angle Projection Type in Styles and Standards Editor.

2. Yes - most companies in the USA use Third Angle Projection Type in which case it was shown correctly by standard.

I recommend that you pull out your college textbook and refer the manager to ASME/ANSI 3rd Angle Projection standards for Section Views.  I will make significant wager that your company standard is 3rd Angle Projection.
