Section line boundary

Hello,

I have a problem / wish...

If I make a section view and the section line is ending inside the part, Inventor draws new "visible" line to right end of section line (see "now" image).

Is it possible to deside which line inventor uses over there or should this be as idea for development?

Comments, please 🙂

I've checked and it seems that Inventor does create these partial section lines on the "Visible" layer as part of the "Visible view edge" object in the object defaults.
If you change the layer for that object it changes the entire outline of a view, so that's no use...

What you can do is, when on the drawing, select the line and on the "Annotate" tab select the desired layer in the dropdown.

In any case, this might be something to put on the Ideastation.
If you do put it there, make a link in this topic and i'll cast a vote for it.

I, too, would like some control over this in styles or settings.  I typically just hide those lines, because I prefer no line at all.

At the very least there should be a jog in the line similar to the jogged dimension line.
