It sounds like an issue of setting up project file.

Assuming you do not working with vault.

If this is the case,

1) do you use a specific project file for your current project?

If you do,

2) have you setup the content center path with your project file?

3) furthermore, are you the only one working with these inventor drawing files?

If you are working in team in your office,

4) You may need to save your files in a public server and locate the content center folder in the server.

Do a "Pack and Go" to a single directory. RMB on the primary Assembly File and select the "Pack and Go" option. This will collect all the files and move them into a single path and zip them. Easy to unzip and move to the desired directory.
