I understand your frustration. I can relate to that. If I were a beginner, I would have stumbled on this one too. There is definitely room for improvement in terms of the workflow and how it is documented. The product itself also has room for improvement.
To certain degree, the forum is indeed an attempt to answer questions like this particular one. There are just way too many workflows and options to document. Even if it was documented, I believe the questions would still be asked. I have seen that happening quite frequently. This is why we have Expert Elites and Autodesk employees like me reviewing forum threads regularly.
I will work with our project team and see how we can further improve the workflow and documentation in this case. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to visit the forum or simply Google a related question. More often than not, you will find a solution.
