Membrane Switch Graphic Overlay

I am currently creating a membrane switch assembly to send to a manufacture. I am trying to determine the best practice for creating a graphic overlay for the membrane switch. My current idea is to create a profile of the membrane and lay a .png image over top of it. This .png will be created from a .ai file. Thanks for the help in advance!

Hi! If the membrane is relatively flat, you can use Decal feature to place the image onto the membrane. But, if it is too curvy (not cylindrical), you may see some stretching at the corners.

Many thanks!

I use a similar workflow for printed labels.  I use a png from the graphics designer as a texture/appearance in Inventor.  The manufacturing drawing has a note like this: LABEL GRAPHICS/ARTWORK CONTROLLED BY "mylabeldesign Revision XX.ai".

I send the vendor the 2d drawing, a stp file of the shape, and the .ai file so they can use all three to give me a finished label.

I don't worry too much about how it looks in Inventor, because I'm making CAD models, not artwork.
