Revision Block REV as a Feature that can be Called-Out

Hello, I am working with a print that has the rev block and part rev as separate revisions for company purposes. I was curious if anyone knew a way to make it so that the revision block revision is a property call-out that can be put into a text box using the property drop-down. I know that the part revision has the property call-out of <part revision>, but I was unsure if anyone knew if it was possible to make the rev block revision its own property. The only way I can think of this being possible is through the custom tags in the iProperties, but we are looking for something more hands-off to prevent errors. I am using Professional 2023.

Thank you!

I would also like to know if it is possible to add a new line to the "Project" section of a part. This would give a universal property that I could call out in different areas of inventor that may work as well.

Hi Drake,

I could be wrong but I don't think it is possible to link the revision tag ID with a drawing text. The tag ID can be on per sheet or per drawing basis and it only exists within the idw/dwg file. Most of the drawing text except a few like sheet properties can only reference properties from the model.

Many thanks!

Do you know if it is possible to add a line to the property section of a part model? I believe we could use a line that we don't normally use, then rename it on call-outs. However, it would be preferable to have it named correctly from the start, if possible. Thank you for your time!

Hi Drake,

I am sorry I don't think there is a way to do that except creating your own sketch symbol to "mimic" revision tag. If you have well-established drafting workflows in AutoCAD, you may consider creating associative drawing views to Inventor components in AutoCAD. The AutoCAD command is VIEWBASE. You can use AutoCAD's drafting workflows to annotate Inventor drawing views. When the Inventor model changes, AutoCAD will update accordingly.

Many thanks!
