Recover from a Custom Content Center part template

Is there a way to get an old template.ipt from a custom content center family, besides a custom  placed member?

Long story, short: I think I replaced a wrong template on an important custom content center part, and can't find it's original template.

Many Thx, Johan

Do you use vault? If so, get a previous version? IF not,  Have you checked your "old versions" folder in your local CC for that part prior to replacing the template?

Can I use a normal standard cc part (or its vaulted previous versions) as a template reclacement file?

They are built from the original family, it will only have the features the family told it to build. Have you verified that what you replaced is wrong? Usually if it is not a component from the family, then it will give a publishing error. I would  open a previous version just to see if that is right, save it off as a back up. Place on from CC and see if it is right or wrong. If you didnt change anything in the family table then what you originally had would still be there. Only thing that would be different is features you may have added/removed and then those would need to be mapped to the family table if they need to be editable, or if they are a fixed size for all, then you shouldn't have to.

Worst case, just place a variation from the family, check it, and whatever is not right, just fix it and re-publish it back.

If you look in the files folder for all standard content center members you should be able to see another member you haven't updated yet to the new template. Now if this was a custom placed content center part then this may have been customized locally in the workspace allready.
