Hi,

I have educational access to Autodesk Inventor. My question is for older versions. So does Autodesk Inventor Professional 2018 have all the features that Autodesk Inventor 2018 has? I am planning to do a course but in the course it does not say if the things that they are teaching are for Inventor 2018 or Inventor Professional 2018. So if I just download Inventor Professional 2018 just to be on the safe side then will that be ok? Also guys I have another question. How do I download Inventor Professional 2018 version. I cannot see any option to download 2018? So where can get it. Please let me know. Thanks.

Inventor Pro used to offer additional features compared to regular Inventor.  I believe that Autodesk simplified the product line and combined Inventor and Inventor Pro for subscribers in 2023. See: https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Subscribers-get-th...

As I understand it, Autodesk typically supports the current version and three versions back of Inventor.

The current version is Inventor Pro 2024, so the supported versions would be 2023, 2022, and 2021.

I would not expect to get installers for Inventor 2018.  You may want to discuss which version of the software is required for the course.

Hi Abaaz, as said above, you will struggle to get installers for 2018 now. You definitely can't buy a new license for it.

I think 2021 was the last version of Inventor standard, basically they were the same but there were some additional add-ins like simulation that you didn't get with standard. There is only one version of Inventor now and it has everything.
Inventor 2025 will still do all the things that 2018 does, but some of the command panels will look different. You can still get Inventor 2022 on subscription which is the closest we have to 2018, the main difference being there are no Level of Detail anymore and you get Model States instead.
