Problems with Ballooning

Collaborator

First problem is that Auto Balloon won't work.  If I click on it I get

190122-AutoballoonFault.png

which does not allow view selection.

Secondly, this drawing shows four instances of Number 6.

190122-CrankcaseFaultyDrawing-640x457.png

One is the Shaft Support (Pillar) the others are a snap ring, a bearing and a circlip.

I find that a bit unusual (not to mention inaccurate).

Can someone tell me what I have done wrong?

Thanks

You need to try again and create a "complete" Pack and Go.  You are missing most of your Content Center Parts and the drawing that you are questioning.  The forum cannot replicate your issue or find a solution without a complete Pack and Go.

There's another problem I have.  Pack-and-Go refuses to create a ZIP file.  I just run P&G to get

Old Versions

Workspace

AE-005-000.ipj

AE-005-0000.ipj.old

packngo.log

Than I zip them.

That's what you have here.

Hello Vagulus,
Please make sure if you choose the view before press the command.
And try to open the assembly file and "Rebuild all".
Thanks,

the file did not fail me, but I had to delete the pieces of content center that I asked for and could not find. Be sure to select the pieces well by inserting them in the whole view, and then select the position of the balloons. Notice that the part numbers of all parts of the content center and each part of the assembly are not repeated,
regards

I assume you are talking about the Auto Balloon command.

I tried these things and the option to Select View Set is still deactivated.

I am using AI 2018 with the default Content Center.  How is it that you cannot find the bearings etc.?

I don't know what you mean by "inserting them in the whole view".

Anyway, there are not cc components in the attached as experts mentioned.
Also please try to reset Inventor setting with the reset utility from here.

Thanks,

I made a screencast on how to include 2D drawings and presentation files, if they exist, in your assembly Pack and Go.  I know you did not ask for it but I just thought you might like to see it since you had trouble before.

I did not list which components to include in the pack.  Surely that is the province of P&G.

Also please try to reset Inventor setting with the reset utility from here.

Did that - no difference.

Your Pack and Go was perfect!  It included everything including the 2D Drawing.  I created another screencast using the Auto Balloon feature to show you that it will not work on the smaller insert view, on the right side of the drawing.  This is because, as far a Inventor is concerned, the BOM balloons are set, after applying them to the main view.  You of course can add them manually to the right hand view.  I prefer this method anyway because Auto Balloon does such a lousy job of placing the balloon arrows.  If you use the Enter key to accept each manual balloon placement, it is a pretty quick process.

Well, to my surprise, when I tried Auto Balloon again the dialog allowed me to select the view (if you check above it has not done so in the past).   Note: this time there is only a single view on this drawing.  However, when I have selected the view and my options the OK button is deactivated.

190122-AutoBalloonNoOK.pngWe are getting somewhere but not all the way.

BTW: the reason for the second view in the previous drawing (which was ballooned manually) was to allow vision of the bearing and circlip in the Support.

I try to tell you before it is what you should select in "select location" to define the location on the drawing sheet. And previously you must select through window selection in the model view in "add or remove componets", and then the ok button will be activated.
BTW: Excuse me for my bad English, I hope to be clear

I have selected the view.

Non-selection.png

Auto-balloon simply does not want to go any further.

And, don't apologize for your English.  It's a whole lot better than my Bulgarian!

Just where you see in the image the selection is complete, you should select placement by clicking on the icon and then clicking on the screen where you want to place the balloons

Hi! I am sorry if I repeat similar comments. I think you may want to uncheck "Ignore repeated occurrences" option in the dialog. Unchecking the option will ensure all balloons are unique. Does it help?

Many thanks!

Would you mind posting screenshots/video of this. I can't figure out what
you are suggesting to click on.
Thanks
