IMG-20220916-WA0000.jpegHow can i cut text in a way that will give me sheet metals in shape of letters?

Do i have to make every letter myself or is there a tool that allows me to do that with the text/geometry text tool?

HI!

Create a sketch with the Lettering you need.

Use EMBOSS tool, (cut mode)

i basically want to cut the letters in a way that it leaves me with sheet metal in the shape of letters.

if i did this it would leave me a sheet metal with letter shaped holes.

In addition to what @CCarreiras mentioned, you can also use the Extrude cut option to cut through all, but not the sheet metal "cut" tool.

In Autocad you could place the text you want in whatever style, then in the express tools tab, use the Explode Text option. Now, you can either copy and paste that into a sheet metal sketch and face it out:

Thanks for the video.

I should've been more specific in what i wanted, but i want to cut the text in a way that it still leaves me the round plate that i want.

i'm making a clock and i want to use the rest of the plate to glue the letters in the exact places that i want them to. it would be hard to do that by hand.

Well... so you want several different parts, right?

You want the ring and each letter... in that case you have to build all the parts and mount them in an assembly.

I nice workflow to do this is to create a multisolid, and then turn it into an Assembly

Hi! For the text, you may use Geometry Text command to circle the individual text around (create a circle or an arc -> Geometry Text -> pick the circle or the arc). On 2023, the Mark feature can help create the etch on a planar face.

Many thanks!
