Problem with Rectangular Pattern

I am trying to make a pattern along a path but it will not let me select points in order to make a pattern along said path. i can, however, select the direction.  Im sure it is user error and im probably missing something obvious here but im just not certain how to fix it. Help would be appreciated (It cant be made in the sketch because i need the pattern to be along the curve length) (file attached)

I do not see a Workpoint in your file to pattern?

i knew it was something obvious haha i was using sketch points
