Problem with flexible movement in Inventor 2023

Hi

I hope someone can help me. I have just updated to Inventor 2023 from 2022 and I am having problems with the movement of part in my existing assemblies.

As soon as a part gets a constrain I can not move it freely in the remaining dimensions any more. If I remove the constrain again I can move the part freely in 3 dimensions.

Also all my flexible subassemblies does not work any more. They will not move.

However if I make a completely new assembly flexible subassemblies work fine and I can move part freely with one or more constrains.

What can I do so that do not have do all my assemblies all over again?

I have tried migrating the assembly and the flexible subassemblies.

I have have tried "Rebuild all".

Update: A nonsolution is if I delete all patterns in the assembly. This also affects if I make a new assembly. So I guess there is a bug where patterns and free movements and patterns cannot coexist in the same assembly.

I joined a Beta program many many years ago only to find out my projects I did in the beta version could not be migrated to a newer release. Last time I ever do that again....

Good luck though.....

Hi! I am sorry I don't think that is true. We do support migrating files from Beta3 to release. In earlier Beta versions, such migration can be technically challenging.

Also, Beta builds are meant for testing purpose. You can still use it for production purpose but there is a risk.

Many thanks!

you should be able to find it if you log into your autodesk account (accounts.autodesk.com)

under product updates. You can properly also find it in your Autodesk Desktop App.

Hi,

It should be in the update centre. You will have to log into your Autodesk account and go to the update centre.

I installed inventor 2023 yesterday and can confirm that this issue still exists even if it's not part of a component pattern. Any part within an assembly can be freely moved until a single constraint is placed on it. Once that constraint is placed, all movement is locked even though there should be free DOFs.

I am running Build 158, Released 3/7/2022 and do not have an option for any updates.

Hi! Please install 2023.0.1 update. Does it work afterwards?

Many thanks!

I also have an issue with 2023... I have a plate with 2 holes that I can constrain holes to its mating part using MATE on the axis, but it will not let me use insert, which is what I use normally (hole centres are exact btw)

Please post example files.  This shouldn't happen, so there must be a rational explanation (or a geometry-specific bug).

Hi! Do you happen to have component pattern in the assembly. If yes, that is the notorious excessive grounding bug due to component pattern in 2023. It has been fixed by 2023.0.1 update and 2023.1 update. Please install 2023.1 update.

Or, as Sam indicated, please attach the files that exhibit the behavior.

Many thanks!

Did you then apply the 2023.1 update as instructed in @johnsonshiue 's post?
