Problem with COIL and DRAWINGS

Hello Everybody,

I have a problem with my ipt design, specifically when I have to work with the tool COIL and drawings (dwg). In this case, when I use Drawings the sketch of the coils doesn't appear in my sheet. How do you solve this problem?

I attach three images for you.

Thanks.

You have a surface body rather than a solid body.

Either:

1. Enable surfaces in drawing

2. Thicken the surface to give it some realistic solid thickness,

3. Attach your files here for diagnosis.

Hi!

Your coil is just a surface.

A surface is something without a solid body, that's why it doesn't appear in 2D drawings.

You can do 2 things:

1- Give some thickness to the surface, using THIKEN/OFFSET tool.

or...

2- Able the drawing VIEWS to show surface bodies.

Thanks for your ideas, it was very useful I have to look for "How to enable the surface" or add "Thicken"

However, I have another question for this ipt. I need to put contraint or limit in my drawing and I don't know the correct way to limit a sketch.

Examples of my constraints:

I attach my files in Inventor 2022, is a worm gear design

Thanks, this post was very useful. Maybe you would help me in "how to constraint or limit a drawing" specifically for a worm gear.

Olá...

First, some Tips:

  • Only one sketch and a revolve could create all your shaft.
  • The external disk could be a second part, created in the sheet metal to be able to achieve the flat Pattern to cut in a laser or plasma.
  • Both parts would be mounted in an assembly.

Regarding your question, you're talking about automatic scaling view's?

If so, it's not quite possible to do it in a simple way.

It's possible to do that with some iLogic programming, but it takes a lot of work for a simple case like this.

Makes sense to have all that work if you will use the same drawing over and over with different sizes.

First: Do you speak spanish?

Second: Regarding your revolve solution to create a shaft, how do you do it?. Instead of that, I prefer to use "Extrude".

You say that the better way is iam file instead of an only ipt. Yeah that sounds good!.

Si, hablo español, soy Pt...😅

Check the file.... take a look of the features you need to have all shaft: only one, and you can control all the shaft in only one sketch...

Yo soy de ECU,

Maybe you can send me an ipt file version 2022, 'cause the last file that you send me it doesn't open because the file was created in Inventor 2023. Unfortunately, I have Inventor 2022.
