Planes losing references

Hi All,

I've had several examples of this. Numerous planes created by [point] and [parallel to existing plane]. I then go into a sketch and modify some unrelated dimension or constraint and finish sketch. Suddenly, all planes have lost their point references and default to the origin. Completely destroys the entire model. FWIW, I'm using top down design so most of the assy is modelled in one part initially, then make parts/make components from there.

Anyone else had this issue/can suggest a fix or workaround please? This is an extremely frustrating fault and is a waste of my/my clients time.

Cheers

@adminXQT2K it looks that maybe it is related to the dataset & scenario you own. If possible, could you please send me the dataset with steps to reproduce the issue via email: [email protected]? That will help us for investigation. Many thanks!

Thanks,

Hi River,

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, it seems to happen at random- I have never been able to forcibly reproduce it.

At present, the items I'm working on cannot be shared. If I have a model in the future that I can share and the event occurs, I'll reply here again.

Cheers

No, that behaviour is correct from what I can see. Imagine that after one of those changes, all three of those planes suddenly became planes referencing the origin point and parallel to [xy] plane, with no way to automatically return them to their correct references. That's what's happening to me occasionally.
