Pins not showing up in assembly to create wires

I've tried this in several different parts and I can't figure out if I'm just missing something silly or there's an issue in a setting somewhere. I follow the steps to assign a pin to the part and the pins show up at the part level, but when I insert the part in my assembly the pins don't show up.

above is what it looks like at the part level - notice pin 1 shows as orange meaning it's visible. Now look below what happens when inserted into an assembly. It says the visibility is turned on, yet it is greyed out and invisible.

Without the visibility of these pins it isn't allowing me to create wires connected to these parts. Help!

Go to the view tab, Visibility section and expand the flyout for Object Visibility..

Is "User Work Points" unchecked?

If @mcgyvr suggestion doesn't fix the problem,

can you attach the assembly file with only that component.

I rarely do wire routing myself, and it seems to me that each time I run into something like this and have to figure it out all over again.

Thanks so much for posting this as I only been using Inventor 7 months and just starting to move onto harness tool but couldn't get the visibility to work for my pins  in my top level assembly - but now it does -thanks again 😎
