Parameter Driven Rectangular Pattern Update

I'm creating a part where the amount of times a section of the sketch is patterned depends on the overall length. I set up the parameters window so that everything comes out to an integer. According to the parameter tab's nominal value, I'm getting the results I want when I plug in different overall lengths, however, the sketch and part aren't automatically updating the pattern and I get a open loop error. To fix it, I have to go back into the sketch and edit the sketch pattern and click ok. Is there any way to have the sketch pattern automatically update so that I don't have to keep doing this?

Hello Christian3.14,

It sounds to me that something with the sketch is screwy. One way which occurs to me that this might be circumvented is to pattern the feature rather than the sketch. Is this possible for your part?

Hi Christian,

This may be a bug. Try something real quick. Go to Manage -> Rebuild All. Does it work? If yes, it may be a limitation (a bug). Please share the files with me directly [email protected]. I would like to understand the behavior better.

Many thanks!

I tried rebuild all but that didn't work. I just ended up patterning the feature and forgot to save a copy of the old sketch. There are other parts that I may have to make that are similar, so when I go to make them, I will do one with a patterned sketch and get back to you.
