Panels with V groove possible?

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi!

I need to do a panel and actually have V grooves shown in model because fabrication uses the SAT files to manufacture. Just to complicate stuff I also need to have the flat pattern for this panel. It does not seem possible to have all requirements with accurate tight bends. Does anyone manufacture similar sheet metal conditions? How do you achieve it?

Thanks

I might suggest that you show an example of what you're trying to achieve.   Words can mean many things...  Smiley Wink

Accepted solution

Yeah are you taking about where a V shaped cutout is done along the inside of a bend to allow it to be bend easily by hand?

Same is done with acrylic or other composite sheets sometimes..

??

And if yes then.. Yes but you will need to manually add the V cut extrusions to the flat pattern.. Like this..

mcgyvr,

Yes that is it. I need to model a V groove inside the panel to obtain sharp corner when bending. I will try your solution.

Thanks,
