Pack and Go Zip option not working

Inventor 2017 installed as part of PDS Ultimate 2017, Win 7 64 bit.

Trying to test my new install, attempting to create a Pack and Go on a small assembly file, the "Package as Zip" option does not seem to work. Have checked that option in the Pack and Go dialogue per below. Any suggestions?

I would Skip Libraries too.

But did you do a Search Now?

I do not see any files found list?

I just tried it and two folders were created.

An unzipped P&G folder and an identical zipped folder.

Thanks for reply. Yes, I did do  Search Now (see below) - did it the first time, too, but tried again, same results When you say it created a "zipped folder" do you mean a folder or a zip file? Where did it put it - in same destination folder?

Here is pack and go log file: (there were no errors)

C:\DP_Standards\Content Center Files\en-US\IFI III (1)\IFI - 1_4-20 UNC x 0.5(5).ipt M.21.00 V1

It is true that I can manually create the zip file myself - but still doesn't answer question of why the zip option is not working.

I must be able to capture the library files, esp. for the Content Center parts - have you ever tried to track down a CC part for a resolve link in a complex assembly? Knowing that the missing file is :

IFI - 1_4-20 UNC x 0.5(5).ipt
en-US\IFI III (1)\

tells you nothing about what the missing part is if it hasn't been previously placed through your content center - what is this, a hex bolt, a screw, a washer, etc - how would you place this into an assembly so you could generate the CC file so you can resolve the link?

Hi,

Could you please go to your Desktop and then find 'Alla Parts' zip file? It should be there.

Thanks,

-Rui

Hi,

Let us know if the issue still persists. we have a known problem in 2017 which you can track from the link below,

Hope it helps.

Hmm I had the same problem when I put it on the desktop (it didn't zip it), but when I created a file on the desktop and selected that on the pack-and-go, hey presto it's zipped

Hi! I am not aware of a general issue here. This would be Windows User Profile related. Try changing UAC to minimum. Right Inventor as Admin (right-click on Inventor desktop icon -> Properties -> Compatibility -> check "Run as Admin").

Many thanks!

Hi Johnson, I think feature is working but not as I would imagined.
in the export dialog it offers to select destination folder.
So what I would imagined is that zipped file will be stored in the destination folder, with the name of the model, but what happens is that IV saves files in the destination folder and then zips that folder and palaces it at the root with folder name as zip name. Also destination folder contains unzipped files...
Very strange logic in my opinion.

Hello,

This feature still does not work (at least in my case). Opening Inventor in Admin mode is not an option for me at work since everything is protected and I don't have admin rights. It still just puts all files seperately in the destination folder or on my desktop with or without the ''Package as .zip'' option enabled.

Version: Autodesk Inventor Professional 2022.
