Hi all
I'm struggling to get how pack & go is different from save as.
Here is how I think pack & go should work:
imagine an assembly with 2 components you want to pack. the end result is an assembly with 2 components that are linked to the packed components. if i would RMB the first component in the packed assembly, and choose "open file location", it should open the folder where the new packed component is located.
instead, pack & go creates links to the original files, and whenever i choose "open file location", it opens the folder with the original files.
again, Inventor is the only well known cad package that doesn't succeed in what other cad packages do perfectly every time.
are there any resources (not the autodesk website for obvious reasons), where someone competent, is explaining a method how to pack & go the right way? like you know, a real pack & go like SOLIDWORKS does always the right way

Okay, so I tested a few more times with different options.
Getting the same unwanted results.
I can do a copy paste in windows explorer and have the same results every time.
When you open the pack and go assembly are you using the original project file or the pack and go project file? Because if you are still on the original project file Inventor will look for files in folders defined by the project file and not the location of the assembly opened.
Just tested this out and not changing the project file will cause issues like this.
