I can't find a way to have the part straight. even if I change to "set to front" it remains twisted.
See below image.
Is this a Derived Component?
Was the orientation in the assembly aligned with the X,Y,Z?
Can you use Move Body to rotate the geometry?
Can you attach the file (Suppress Link) here?
Hi!
In an IAM:
First align the main part: edit the ipt as you donne above (edit or open the first grounded part in assembly)
Back to the IAM, align the planes and axis between the aligned part and the IAM.
Did you find this reply helpful ? If so, use the Accept as Solution or Kudos - Thank you!

I see I can use rotate body if is a ipt, and it works fine. I can rotate
and measure and align with axis.
The problem is when I have a iam twisted on the axis. I don’t know how to
move/rotate it in order to have it aligned on the axis.
Thank you

Sounds like you're placing the part in an assembly and it's just not oriented properly from the start?
I would suggest first fixing the orientation in the part itself. Then once it is placed in your assembly, right click it in the broswer and ensure that "Grounded" is unchecked. Then use the "Ground and Root Component" tool in the ribbon under Assemble>Productivity (tool is located in drop down menu). That tool will align the origin of the selected part with the assembly origin.
If I really understand the issue, then that ought take care of it.
Hope this helps.
Attach your files here if you can't figure it out.
Hi! It looks like the part body was positioned as such in the context of an assembly. I don't think the part was modeled from scratch in this orientation. Front View simply shows how the body should look like according to the origin planes. As other posters have already mentioned, you can use Move Bodies or Direct Edit (R2015) to re-orient the body.
For assembly, you may want to create constraints or joints to align the part to selected reference geometry (edge, axis, face, or plane).
Thanks!
