old/original files are linked with copy design files

Hello All,

After the successful copy design in the vault when we get files from the vault and open the files in the Inventor, old/original (source) files are still linked to the new copy design file (.iam or .idw). 

We need to delete the original files from the local drive and then relink all new files. This task adds one more step to the workflow and is tedious in the case of large assemblies.

Has anyone faced the same issue?

Any solution to avoid this problem?

Files that are renamed will be new copy.

Files that are NOT renamed will be reused and linked.

Check your Copy Design settings.

That should not happen.

Some thing wrong when you Copy Design.

Hi,

This is vault copy design. Once we perform regular copy design and get file
from local drive. Old files are still linked to the new file.

Hi! I am sorry I am not a Vault expert. But I thought there should be options in Copy Design to keep the old links or remap to new files. Here is a related article. I am not sure it is the same issue though.
