New Tube and Pipe file needed

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi, I have been trying for some time to fix a file which I may have accidentally deleted.

I have replaced my "piping runs.iam" file into the Design Data Folder but I keep getting the error:

The Tube & Pipe template was not found. The specified location for the project is:
[V:\Drawing Library\000. GPA ITEMS\000. TEMPLATE\Design Data - 2012\Tube & Pipe].
Please verify that the template file exists.

This has made Tube & Pipe unusable.

Can anybody please assist me with a new "pipng runs.iam" file to get me back up and running or any other suggestions?

This is the default location for the Tube & Pipe:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Inventor 2015\Design Data\Tube & Pipe\en-US

You will need to delete the 0001 from the file name structure. It's also for IV2015

Thanks, I tried the file in that location but my design data is located in:

[V:\Drawing Library\000. GPA ITEMS\000. TEMPLATE\Design Data - 2012\Tube & Pipe]

I have "piping runs.iam" in that location but still get the error, I have attached a screen shot

What is suggested is that you manually copy the piping runs in the V:\Drawing Library\000. GPA ITEMS\000. TEMPLATE\Design Data - 2012\Tube & Pipe folder

I have attached mine, try it maybe yours is corrupted.

That's why I attached the T & P file as well, either something is wrong with your path or your file is corrupt.

Thanks again for the help, I can open the Piping Runs.iam directly but the assembly is empty.

This looks like the problem and I have no idea what components should be in there.

I am using 2014 Professional.

The T & P template file should be empty, If you can open the template file, it's fine. It only contains the "Styles" data for creating your runs. You won't be able to open the IAM file that I posted as it's a newer version.

Are the "File" options within the Application Options pointed to the correct directory that your template resides.

The file locations look ok in the settings.
Is there a way to relink the Pipe & Tube feature to the Template file from the settings within the Tube & Pipe feature itself?

I just discovered Cable & Harness is not working either.

Same message appears:

The Cable & Harness template was not found. The specified location for the project is:

[V:\Drawing Library\000. GPA ITEMS\000. TEMPLATE\Design Data 2014\Cable & Harness\en-US]

Please verify that the template file exists.

The file is in that location.

Please post a screen capture of your Inventor>Application Options>File: settings screen. Something odd is going on.

There is two locations which directs Inventor, the first one is the Project FIle and the second is the Application>File Options.

Thanks everyone for your help, I have resolved the issue now.

The Design Data Folder that I was directing my projects to, which was not the default location, had missing files.

Message:

Incomplete Design Data Folder:

The specified folder is not complete with all Design Data and style library files.

I have now changed the default location to:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Inventor 2014\Design Data

as originally suggested and that fixed the problem.

Thanks again.
