Are base views created on Layer-0

Having used Autocad for a number of years I always placed my inserted drawings on the Layer-0.

Is this the same for Inventor, when a base view is inserted into a drawing template is the default Layer-0.

When creating custom libraries thru the Style manager Layer-0 has no standard extention (i.e. ANSI, ISO)

does this mean it can not be customised or altered. 

My issue is controlling printed line weight of base view to met office standard when sketch elements have been included in drawing template.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think so. It goes by the standards set in the styles library. Below is an article which explains in detail on how the base views are created,

Hi Vinod,

The question was on Which layer would a 2D image of a 3D model be placed on when created as a Base View in a drawing template.

If you refer to the attached image I have created a representation of what I think the drawing format would be using the Object Default option.

Template layer - Created with Style Mananger and API rules (form)

Base View - On what layer is the Base View placed on. What layer from the Object Defaults/Layers list would this layer be placed on?

2D Sketch Layer - Created with Style Manager and edited with Style/Standard Manager

Text Layer- Created with Style Manager and edited with Style/Standard Manager

In the earlier releases we didn't even have layers in Inventor its only when it came to translating to AutoCAD did they start to exist.
They are only there for translation needs to other systems like AutoCAD.

But you create a text layer but what go on that layer is configure in the Object default styles plus there are 4-5 different types of text. There is no default layer like 0 in Inventor. These layers are all there for translation.
