I believe the first iteration of the Inventor Nesting Utility had this feature but since then I haven't been able to figure out how to make it stop auto-calculating source files.
As it stands, when I select an assembly file as a geometry source, it immediately goes to trying to figure out every .ipt in the assembly, but there's usually stuff in there I don't intend to try and nest up (Like say, steel tube).
In this case too there seem to be files that the Nesting Utility can't handle at all, so they prevent the operation from completing, however Nesting Utility doesn't even allow you to remove parts from the import until it successfully imports them.
I'm not sure if I'm just missing something or there's no way to stop the auto-import, but this is incredibly annoying since my only options are to either hunt down and add each individual part (With the added bonus of the 'Source Files' prompt not having workplace/project shortcuts), or make a separate assembly strictly to track down and throw every sheet metal component in.
