Hello,
Is there someone who can help me to get this twisted sweep part into a flat dxf file so that i can get it lasered and that they can bend it again at the workshop?
hope someon knows how to do this?
Zip up the part and post it directly here..
That silly link requires users to agree to terms just to be able to download the file.. Not to mention for all we know it could contain viruses,etc...
Im not able to upload even a zip file here... It's just a wetransfer link.
Hi Charlies,
Inventor 2019 is not yet able to flatten shape like this. We are working on a solution. If you have access to Inventor Beta, you could try something there. There is an issue with the way the Sweep is created though. You should not use Twist to control the profile orientation. It would make the geometry unnecessarily complicated. What you need to do is the following.
0) Make XY plane visible.
1) Edit the Sweep feature.
2) Change Twist angle to 0.
3) Change Type to Path and Guide Surface -> pick XY plane as the Guide Surface.
You will see the sweep starts and ends at the desirable section orientation.
Many thanks!
@mcgyvr here's the part zipped up if you want to inspect.

In mean while an other question.
I have some profiles missing in my frame generator section.
If you look at the EN 10219-2 library it starts at 40x but the real library that you can order from starts at 20x10
Where can i find the complete library? Because i need the small tubes.
Can i ask you one thing? if you get the body you do convert to sheet metal or what to get the folded model?
I'm still not able to upload anything here (i don't know why)
So a dropbox link: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/pea5jz6re88x1w4/AACO9BWwUmsVphmq7Zx_ZmNea?dl=0
Thank you for your fast reply but even with these settings it doesn't work.
Can you tell me what i did wrong?

they have done everything right, inventor can not handle this.
it does not work on the ends.
it works just as I have shown, sorry
Hi! Indeed, Inventor 2019 and earlier cannot flatten this bar. If you have access to Inventor Beta, there might be options there.
Many thanks!
