i was able to create a parametric model of this tray and make the ipart, the problem seems with publishing this to content center and use it as a frame member. im unable to author this correctly, seems like inventor take only one rod as the profile, although they are all extruded in the same feature also make this cat weird like changing the orientation of some rods after Author Command . generally i want to use this in the Frame Generator EnvironmentTray.PNG

So since you're in 2015, you won't be able to open my part file. I did, however, go ahead and make a screencast.

Now that I'm looking at it though, you seem to have more of an issue with publishing your part rather than actually just making the iPart.

Still, I made a screencast showing how I would create this part (first time around anyway) and after re-reading your post, I went to publish it and was able to do so succesfully. Even tried it out through FG and it worked just fine.

Let me know if this helps. Also, if you're still having issues publishing, I can publish this part again and record if you think that would help.

Sorry I never got around to replying to this post Alex.

Did you manage to publish your part file?

I haven't been on the forums in quite a long time now. I came here with a question to post and saw the PM you sent me. Sorry about the very extended delay.

@Alexrose1942 well good! I'm glad to hear it.

I would have felt pretty bad if I just never got back to this thread and you weren't able to do what you were trying to do.

Fortunately, for most things Inventor related, there are several resources out there for answering questions. Even though these forums still remain one of the best ones if you ask me.

Take care Alex.

Can you provide a video on how to publish this part into the Content Center?  Creating the part video was very helpful, I am just having difficulty publishing.

Hi! There are quite a few videos on Youtube and Autodesk Knowledge Network. Please google the following terms.

Autodesk Inventor Publish iPart to Content Center

It is very straightforward. If you still have issues, please share the iPart factory file here so forum experts can take a look.

Many thanks!

I need some help, I have created a wire basket cable tray and converted to an iPart.  The iPart works correctly, but when I go to author it under Structural Shapes I get an failure notice for reasons unknown.  I followed instructions on how to create the part (from this forum  - message #6) but I'm note sure how to author and publish this part.

Also, it was suggested to me that I look on YouTube to find a video on how to do this, unfortunately I have had no luck.

I would like to use this in Frame Generator.

Make sure to post only once https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-forum/authoring-a-structural-shape-that-contains-multiple-features/td-p/9180597 about a given issue and not in different location.   Posting mutiple times about the same issue leads to mutiple conversations that could pull you in different directions..  😁
