Hi all, I'm quite new to inventor (come from 20 years ProE!!) so I am in need of some help.

I am trying to model a bayonet style fitting and am struggling to think of how to model this feature:-

Can anyone please advise of the best way, I am assuming some kind of sweep though unsure of how to achive this in inventor

IMO, best way for doing these Pin-in-slot tasks is thickening of a mid-surface. 2014 file attached.

Later: End fillet is changed now

You could model the negative as a new body and do a boolean cut?

You could also sketch on say a plane, xy or whatever and extrude cut it out.

This can be done, if tolerances are big enough.

But for a tight fit between pin and slot, thickeniing of a mid surface is the best way.
