Model States not available on part

Hello all,

I am trying to use model states on a sprocket that was originally created with the chain generator.  The part does not show model states in the browser.  I'm guessing there is a flag that needs to be reset to allow model states.  I've attached the offending file.

Hi! This is wrong. I cannot explain the behavior. For an ipt file, "Model State" folder is missing only when the part is an iPart (factory or member). This part is just a regular part. "Model State" folder should appear.

I will work with the project team to understand it better.

Doing some internal testing prior to migration for my company and it appears as though all of our frame generated parts exhibit the exact same behavior.

Hi! For Frame Gen components, that is the correct behavior. It is because FG does not fully support Model State (except Master).

Hi @hshorst , this is interesting problem. By the way, the file has been saved in 2022. Is it possible you can send me this file saved before 2022?

Not supporting Model State in frame generator is disappointing.  Frame generated parts are a significant portion of our design process and had the potential to solve some of our work flow issues.  Can't saw I'm overly surprised by the limitation just disappointed.

Sorry for the slow response.  Thanks for taking a look at this.  I've attached the sprocket from a previous version of Inventor.  Let me know if there is anything else that would be helpful.

Thanks @hshorst . We have verified this dataset was created by Design Accelerator which is another not supported workflow by Model State.

Right now due to 2022 scope and limited resource, Model State is not supported in below datasets.

• Tube Pipe
• Cable Harness
• Frame Generator
• Design Accelerator
