I wish the marketing goons would quit mislabelling technology.  No holography is used in this technology.  This is a head mounted stereoscopic optical display system.  That's all it is.  It may be newer, better, and cooler than what has gone before, but it is NOT holographic.

*sigh*

Time for my afternoon repose.

It looks kind of neat.... if it actually would work that good (not so from the reviews of it I heard)...but who knows. The other thing, similarly to 3D TV is the bloody thing you have to wear. It would be so comfortable to lie on the couch with the Mrs watching netflix with these on your head... Not. I'm out. Will wait for actual 3D tech 😉

Hello everyone,

HoloLive is your solution.

We have launched Revit and Navisworks plugins for HoloLens 3 months ago. It is very simple to take your large BIM models from Navisworks to HoloLens as simple as one click. You need to install HoloLive app on HoloLens. It is cloud based solution and you can also sync your models to HoloLens also.

You can set up your reference/ survey point in plugins also to place you model accurately in the field.

For more information: www. VisuaLive3D.com

You can start with 7 days trial.

We convert direct from Inventor into our own format - it can be shown by HoloLens as well:

http://www.sparepartsplace.com/en/toolkit_en/   --->   http://www.sparepartsplace.com/en/Inventor_en/

http://www.sparepartsplace.com/MS_hololens/

...and even in webGL - all based on the same Data:

Autodesk are working on a Forge plugin for Unity.  We are looking at integrating this into our BIM Holoview pipeline as it will help a lot with format conversions.

Hello,

we have done some testing with our file format and HoloLens and it works very well: http://www.sparepartsplace.com/en/hololens_en/

Further on we plan to provide a direct CAD Data output to HoloLens. The data for HoloLens is based on the process we use with the SPP Toolkit.

Everyone who is interested is invited to test it with Inventor 2017 and 2018. See here: http://www.sparepartsplace.com/en/toolkit_en/
