I want to use 1 of the 4 same parts in an assembly as a virtual part.
I want to show 3 in BOM, can you tell me how?

You can change the bom reference of a regular part/assembly in the browser tree under button Bom structure to reference in order to reduce the qty in the BOM. The graphics will still show. In the drawing the part will appear with dashed lines as standard. This can be changed in the view settings.

A few ways to change qty of virtual parts.

  1. Create more occurrences in the assembly and ensure they have matching  part number.
  2. Pattern virtual parts
  3. Overwrite the qty in the BOM.
  4. Use ilogic to overwrite the qty in the BOM
ThisBOM.OverrideQuantity("Model Data", "OccurrenceName", "300")

Hopefully this will answer your question. If not please post back with some images of your intended workflow.

Hi! If I understood the request correctly, this can be done quite easily. In the assembly, right-click on the part instance you want to deduct -> BOM Structure -> Reference. This will turn the part instance to a reference part (discounted from the BOM table) but the remaining three will stay intact.

Many thanks!
