JT, OBJ and STL

Hi,

The "Save Copy As" option in Inventor 2022.0.1 does not allow me to export JT, OBJ and STL.
How do I export these files in Inventor 2022?

Does "File > export > CAD format" still allow for those file types?

You can also check the addins (translators tab) to see if those are loaded properly:

2021 has it, but 2022 doesn't seem to have it.

These are in the list of add-ins.

That doesn't seem right, but i don't have access to 2022 atm...

Crazy thought: If you switch to the 3D printing environment, does the STL export work there? (Environments > 3D Print)

It doesn't give you all the filetypes, but it might be a way to see if the translator is really loaded and working.

It feels like there might be something wrong with the installation, but i'm not that good at providing support for that.

Maybe the reset utility can fix it, maybe a repair install is needed, maybe it's something else...

We can ask to move this topic over to the Installation & Licensing forum, if you want?

@johnsonshiue (or anyone), any other suggestions?

I installed it on two other computers, and one had the same phenomenon, while the other one showed everything.

I'll try reinstalling it.
Thank you very much.

Hi! Are you using Naviswork Switchback or other Add-Ins? We do have an issue with some Add-ins causing other Add-ins to fail to load. Try unload those Add-ins.

Many thanks!

I have a Navisworks switchback set up on my PC that prevents me from exporting JT, OBJ and STL.
I tried unloading the switchback add-in, and now I can export.
This problem has been solved.

Thanks!

Hi! Many thanks for confirming! It is a known issue on Navisworks Switchback and also Inventor 2022. Both products have been working on a fix to address the problem. They will be available in the coming .1 update for Switchback and Inventor 2022.

In the meantime, you may turn off Switchback Add-In to bypass the problem.

Thanks again!
