Joining a hole pattern

How do you join say a 3 hole bolt pattern, inline with the corresponding/matting 3 hole pattern of the other part?

Hi NBriach,

Are you asking how to constrain them in the assembly, after they have been created in each part file?

If so 2 insert constraints should do it?

Or are you asking how to create the hole pattern in part 2 so that it matches the pattern in part 1?

If so, you might look into the Bolted Connections tool, as it will allow you to fill the hole pattern with bolts, nuts, and push the holes down into part 2.

I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,
Curtis

Attach your assembly here if you can't figure out the Insert constraints.

Your first suggestion is the condition that I'm interested in. I will try both and post my results.

Thanks, NB

JD Mather,

I appreciate you reaching out to offer assistance. I tried both suggested
methods but can't seem to see the forest through the trees. Here is the
assembly. The 3-hold bolt pattern is not aligned with the other 3-holes.
Where am I going astray?

Best Regards,
