Is there a way to keep filename and part number separate with the part numbering sequence  at file save within vault professional 2025?

Our company wants to keep file names unique and sequential, but our customers want the part number to reflect their requirements (i.e. filename: SW-20101.ipt, Part No.: 3A051H1515-F)

Can you make a specific parts list to satisfy the customer requirements that uses say "stock number" instead of part number? That way you could have a parts list for both options..One for your company style and one for the customer?? Just a thought.

The short answer is no. They require the part number to match their requirements and the stock number to reflect the material specification (i.e. 14 GA SS, vendor name (if purchased), etc.) and as our main customer is USG, they get their way. They are very explicit on their requirements.

When file is first save, it'll use file name as Part Number.

You can change it to anything after that.

Unless your Vault is set up to sync, Part Number will be different from File Name.
