How to scale sketch block in a part

I have a logo with custom text in it; as this font does not exist, I have traced it and saved it as a block.

I want to scale the block but can't figure out how.  The block properties have a scale tick box, but it achieves nothing.

I have tried to use the sketch scale tool by selecting the already placed block, but it deselects when selecting the tool...so does nothing.

Does anyone know the secret?  I do not want to 're-dimension the block contents' every time I want to scale the block...that defeats the purpose of block IMO.

Hi! Another way to scale the sketch block is to derive it and set the scale.

Many thanks!

This looks to me like you are editing the block and scaling its contents, not scaling the block itself.  Am I wrong?

I can do that, but that is not what it needs to do.  It needs to scale the block.

I have a nested block, i.e. blocks inside of blocks.  So each letter in the logo is a block that can be reused rather than copying a bunch of lines/curves.

Then those blocks are inserted into a block to arrange into something sensible.

It seems to me blocks are simply not selectable by the scale command.  I have set up a test block and selected it:

As soon as I select the scale button, it deselects:

I can try to select it all I want, it will not select.

Can Autodesk please confirm whether what I am seeing is normal behaviour or not?  Thanks.

Hi Johnson:

This worked but is not intuitive; can you please review my above post and advise.

In the meantime, thanks for that suggestion...it is a good workaround for my needs right now.

Hi Rob,

Inventor's Sketch Blocks are rigid. Dynamic shape change isn't supported. You will need to edit the Sketch Block definition or derive it with a scale factor.

Many thanks!
