hello there
How can I mesure the volume of a part in inventor? is there not a tool for that, or am I forced to calculate it my self?

Have you checked iproperties?
if it's a multi body then you can interogate each body in the browser with right click and choosing properties.
If you create it as a separate body then in the browser right under the part name (top level name) you have a folder Solid Bodies. Expand that and right click on your body to interogate, and choose properties.,
I ussually rename my body to Volume, or Water, etc. just so I can find it easier.
so if you use New Solid option in your extrude or revolve then you can interogate it individually.

it is not a ipart, so I don´t have the Iproperties, only properties. what do you mean about multi body?
It´s a cilinder, with a some details here then there
if it's not a part, is it a surface ? you need to make it a solid with either sculpt, thicken...
is it an assembly? it must contain a solid body because you can only add cuts at the assembly level.
please explain or attach the file here.
Every part has iProperties, no matter what. If there is a solid body in the part, then the iProperties > Physical tab will give the Volume (you may have to click the Update button).

Let's try one more time -
EVERY part has iProperties. Period!
It does not have to be an iPart.
If you can't figure it out - attach your file here.

no one said anything about iparts....the properties of a part are called "iproperties".
Calculate the volume of a steel vessel it's very simple, from iProperties, but Is there anyone here that can help me with the following problem:
I want to calculate the volume of a steel vessel after temperature material expansion. (1 degree). Is there any feature in inventor that gives you the volume depending of the temperature increase or decrease?
You should have started a new thread for this question.
Volume of material is different problem than volume of cavity within a vessel.
Derived Component with scale as surface body.
Close the volume and Sculpt.
Attach your file here if you can't figure it out.
Thank you for taking my question intro consideration, i will try to explain how clearly is possible what I want to calculate:
INTRODUCTION:
I have a steel vessel for kerosen storage with 1600 mm inner diameter and with dished heads. For this vessel i have to make a calibration plate. The tabel for the calibration plate must to have 2 rows: height with a 5 mm iteration (mm) and volume of the storage liquid (liters). The vessel have 2 compartiments separated by a sheet plate with a height of 800 mm. As in the attached drawings, i already did this job, using the iproperties for every 5 mm of height. (attached table). This volume is obtained at a ambiental temperature of 15 degress C.
WHAT I WANT TO CALCULATE NOW WITH INVENTOR IF IT'S POSSIBLE:
If the temperature of the equipment (steel vessel) will increase with 1 degree, the steel will have a dilatation, so the diameter of the vessel will have a small change. I want to add at my existing tabel a new column with the volume for all iterations of height for the new diameter after material dilatation. I attached my initial drawing with volume from iproperties for every iteration of height and also a sample of the sketch how i calculated the volume for a height of 650 mm.
Thank you for your time and hope to hear from you soon !
I was wondering if you can convert the value from cubic millimetres to cubic metres? I'm making this massive thing but I choose the unit as millimetres instead of metres so do I have to make my behemoth of a thing again? Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Did you use the correct number of millimeters?
Can you Attach your file here?
Tools>Document Settings>Units?
Do you know how to convert cubic millimeters to cubic meters?
