Hi anyone can describe me in details what is the workflow for creating iParts? my list of problems: -right click >generate files (Sometimes greyed and not available) -where to save the ipart factory scope? (my main file) -what are the 'must have' columns to create iParts? -what is your workflow in terms of doing the base sketch? you create a sketch and then adding parameters and assign them to the dimension? I've already created parts, but can't seem to get consistent results. also, sometimes i get this error while trying to change members in the browser under "Table"

Thanks

Do you have Excel installed?

Inventor requires it

@Alexrose1942  Was Excel installed or updated after INventor was installed?

Try these steps first..

1.  Exit Inventor and select the Windows start button and in the search field above it type cmd (but do not hit an enter).

2.  When the cmd.exe appears in the list, right mouse click on it and select run as admin

3.  Navigate to C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor <version>\bin directory.

4.  Type Inventor.exe /install

5.  Wait a few minutes.

6.  Restart Inventor.

DId that resolve the issue?

If not I have seen issues where there's left over registry entres that point to an old path for Excel.  Once those paths were updated the issue went awat.
