Invisible section view plane

Hi

Is there a way to make the blue section view "plane" invisible? I don't see the point with it and it's in the way to see what I want to see, the section.

Isn't that already transparent as you've shown?
That blue plane highlights the face/workplane you selected as a reference as the start of sectioning.
Once you confirm "OK" (green checkmark), then that blue plane disappears.

Hi!

Is not possible.

You can do other things like:

isolate the parts you need to check.

turn of the visibility of the part

Turn off the enhancement highlighting (Aplication options -> Colors)

...

Hi! Or another option is to cut the part physically by creating a Sculpt feature.

Many thanks!

That blue plane is only there when you are "editing" a section view.

Why not just - in that case shown in your picture - use the actual Origin Planes of that socket head bolt to make a new section view? It will be much more accurate than trying to guess at numbers to move from the plane of some other section view.

Maybe you could explain exactly what it is that you are trying to accomplish - a lot of times the reason something isn't working as well as someone would like, it's because there is a different tool to do just that thing.

I use the mouse pointer and drag the section plane through the whole part to see that everything matches (screws, holes and so on). Its faster to do so than to confirm the section cut for every cut I want to evaluate.

@ponka85

Hi, while in the "drag" mode of a section there is no way to turn that plane off.  Since the dragging mode is part of defining a section view that stays on so the user can see the reference while they are choosing where to "drop" the section on their part/assembly.

@ponka85

It looks like you are selecting a part face to click and drag section offset.

I don't have Inventor to test, but what if you select a workplane a bit away from the assembly? (Workplanes can be resized to be tiny and not obscure anything.)
