This may be a stupid question....
Is there a stripped down version of Inventor? I would like a version that doesn't include all the extras; electrical, hydraulic, stress analysis, etc. A version I can use to Model and detail 3D projects for my own personal use. A perfect example; I like to build and model a shed for storing lawn equipment; I could do material take-offs, draw cut sheets, and have detail drawings of the shed. Or model and design woodworking projects without having to experiment with actual wood, especially considering the cost of wood these days.
I know Autodesk has a program for license sharing for home use if you have a business license. Well, that's great for those that work for a company that has Inventor and is willing to allow employees use the software at home. I have neither one of those options. And purchasing a yearly license for hobby/ home improvement projects is just not financially feasible or smart.
MY current employer only uses AutoCAD, and I have over 10 years of experience with Inventor with a previous position. There are free design software, Google SketchUp, that just aren't as powerful or user friendly.
Thank you for any information or suggestions.
