Inventor 2024 Frame Gen Naming Error

Hi, I'm finding this error to be occurring quite often.

When I try to run a Stress Analysis, I get an error because frame gen members have the same name (as highlighted below). Could this be a bug in Inventor 2024? I never had it before with Inventor 2022.

Running version 2024.3 on Windows 10

Hello Daniel,

so far I have no idea why some of your frames have same file name. Please check Application option, include <unique number> into frame file name

Regards

Hi mate, never changed that option. It matches your screenshot as you can see below

What is even weirder is that, if you see the second image below. I had 10 members, Inventor named correctly from 1 to 8, then repeated occurrence 1 2 times.

Hi Daniel,

yes, same frame display name can be achieved by these steps

- have a rectangle sketch (e.g. 100 x 200)

- populate all 4 lines by Insert Frame command, frames are X:1, X:2, X:3, X:4

- make rectangle square, means (change size 100 to 200 to get square 200 x 200)

- notice frame will be X:1, X:2, X:1, X:2

but it should not be a problem for Frame Analyses.

For Linear Stress Analyses the same names is problem

-  Activate Frame Generator subassembly

-  Rename browser nodes from Default to e.g. File Name and back to Default to let browser get refreshed

-  Once you have unique frame names, create new FEA study

-  All should be OK now

Thanks Jan.

I never used that function before. For my current problem, I manually renamed it, but I'll surely use it if it happens again.
