Inventor 2021 released

Inventor 2021 has been released today. Customers will start seeing it available in their Autodesk Account or via Autodesk Desktop App over the coming days.

Is there a running list of UI elements not updated in Dark Mode yet?  I figure there's got to be a place to consolidate this while it's being finished.

The Mirror dialog still shows in original bright colors, for example:

The dark theme is labeled as Preview. There are indeed some dialogs not yet Dark-enabled. The team is working on it through out the following updates to 2021. Hopefully, all will be Dark-enabled soon.

As awareness, we did not apply Dark Theme to any commands that are dialogs with the preview. Our focus was on the property panels and the overall UI and canvas.

I think that is not enough.

No big "What's new"..

There are 4 part enhancements and are all minor enhancements.

We like the dark mode, but the enhancements are structured normally for all other softwahouses with 2 or 3 BIG enhancements, increase the general hype for customers and new users, and justifies the cost of the new release, the subscription, etc

+ other minor enhancements.

I can't see here any big innovaction, there are all boring and minor, and often peculiar enhancements.

Please go back as in the past with BIG enhancement, big IDEAS, BIG innovaction, BIG FUN, new modules.

BRING BACK PASSION(lost) TO Inventor users.

Hi Johnson;

May I ask - what was wrong with the original colour scheme? Why there is a need for such an "enhancement"? I hope - the Dark Mode will be just an optional one. Not like much debated Ribbon which was forced upon all the Inventor users since release 2011.

The Dark-theme was one of the highly requested enhancements amount our users. People were complaining the Light theme was too bright. Also, the Dark-theme is consistent with AutoCAD which makes the experience switching between the two nicer.

Hi Kevin,

Inventor can be tried for 30 days for free. If you are a student, you are entitled to three-year renewable free license for learning purpose.

In terms of bugs, Inventor, like any commercial software, does have bugs. Most of the defects are workflows specific. It is rare we have general functional breakage rendering the tool unusable. When it happens, a hotfix should be available promptly. We do publish quarterly update, only available to subscribers. The updates contain some new enhancements (no migration or data model change) and some bug fixes. On top of that, it allows the translators to stay up-to-date with our competitors' formats.

Hi Johnson;

Well, I hope - it is an optional feature - not the only one which will be available from now on.

I do recall experiencing some little uncomfort  using Millennium colour scheme in Inventor after spending many years in AutoCAD. But the Dark scheme in Inventor was even more uncomfortable to my eyes! 

Do you have some private club of users, who ask for such enhancements? On this forum I have never seen a request for dark background from any a member.

Drawings (background) will be also Dark (black?) ?  i hope so...

Hi Marcin,

Drawing background is a bit different. You can set your sheet color to black already. I know it is not as nice as AutoCAD. I believe the intent is to make it consistent.
