Hey all,
I've encountered a weird problem and I'm honestly confused if this is a glitch or just user error.
I was making some component and after saving it, Inventor crashed 5 minutes after.
It turns out that Inventor crashed because it couldn't work with the DWG.
DWG?! what? I didn't export the drawing, I saved it as an IPJ.
After the crash I went looking for my file and I did notice a DWG, problem is, Acad can't open it.. neither can Inventor.

Inventor does not save files as .ipj That is the format of an Inventor Project file. Inventor saves drawing files as either .idw, or .dwg as defined in your Application options. It sounds like you are set up to save as .dwg by default... and there must have been something wrong with this particular file.
What version of inventor are you using?

Hi! I suspect this could be a confusion due to hidden file extension. Try this. Go to File Explorer -> View -> Options -> View -> uncheck "Hide file extensions for known file types."
Many thanks!
