Inventor 2020 asking to save when creating new file

My copy of inventor has started exhibiting some relatively strange behavior recently. When I create a new part file, I am prompted to save the file, and any time I switch to a different document or program (for instance, to take measurements from another part that I'm using as reference, or some sort of reference material in another program), when I return to a part file with an active sketch, I'm prompted to exit sketch and save. To my knowledge, I haven't changed anything that should be causing this, and I would like to turn it off. When I create a new .ipt, I do not want to assign a filename before I have created anything, and I do not want to have to dismiss the "you can't save in sketch mode, please exit sketch to save" dialogue box every time I return to the document I'm creating in. What could be causing this?

Q1. Are you using Projects (*.ipj) or are you using Vault?

Q2. Can you create a Screencast Recording of the behavior that you see?

Q3. Have you installed all Updates for 2020?

I am aware of at least one scenario where you will be prompted to save the file to continue, but the behavior you describe sounds a bit different.  A video of the behavior might jog recognition of the cause.

Q1: I am using .ipj project files, as a home user I don't have much use for the file management capabilities of Vault.

Q2: I've created a screencap of the two issues in question, please pardon the messy desktop, as again I am a home user rather than using the software professionally.

Q3: As of this morning, my copy of Inventor 2020 is as up to date as my license will allow, and it is still exhibiting this issue, same as it was prior to installing updates.

Hi! The warning is about saving the file while sketch is active. You need to finish the sketch and then you can save. Inventor does not allow you to save a file, when the sketch is being edited.

Many thanks!

I very much understand that, my confusion is to why, as shown in the screencap, I am being prompted to save at all when I have an open document with edits, switch to a different document or program, and then return to the edited document. That behavior I do not understand, as other copies of Inventor I have used do not exhibit that behavior, and I would like to stop my copy from doing that.

I see you have some addins... Try disabling them all..

Have you tried the "Inventor Reset Utility"? (Start menu, type "Inventor Reset" and run that)
