I'm facing a problem to obtain a looping length of the part (Image in attachment) of the Autodesk Inventor 2018.
I need to measure red line. I tried to use "Select Other" But, no have options I need.

Click on the face and check what it says in perimeter length
Sorry.. you will need to wait for them to finish the updated measure tool..
Seems they removed the "add to accumulative" functionality to add up multiple selections when they redid the measure tool in 2018..
Hopefully thats something they valued and will add it back eventually..
You might want to sign up to see what the "beta" team is doing
For now you will need to measure each segment and add it up..
Can you not just create the flat pattern and get the measurement from that?
Hi Joao,
The Measure Loop workflow for your case has not been changed. In the past, you may be able to use Accumulate to aggregate the edge length. However, if you miss one pick or you pick an arc, the Accumulate may not yield the desirable result. In your case, you would need to create a 2D or 3D Sketch, then project or include the edges. Then you can use Measure command to measure the loop. It should work in all releases including 2018.
Many thanks!
Hi Johnson,
Is there functionality missing to measure a 3D sketch loop? We rely on the ability to measure a 3D sketch's' total length, which was available in R2017. The previous example discussed was a 2D problem, which I believe works. Do you see the ability to measure a 3D sketch length in 2018, besides measuring each individual 3D sketch element?
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you,
Stephen R.

On a quick sample I'm able to measure the loop of a 3d sketch in 2018 (latest version)..
I just need to do a select other to get "curve loop" to be selected instead of the individual curve (line)
Hi Stephen,
The Measure Loop command no longer exists as a standalone command. But, the workflow still exists. To measure a loop in a 3D Sketch, start Measure command and hover the cursor over a 3D Sketch segment -> right-click -> Select Other -> you will see "Curve Loop" is listed in the combo box. Could you try it and see if it works for you?
Many thanks!
Thank you Johnson, Brian. I see it now. My graphics display did not show the "select other" options until I went back for the 3rd time. I may need to reboot.
Thanks again,
Stephen R.
