Inventor 2018 FEA Convergence plot not working

Hi Guys,

I am having a bit of trouble with the convergence plot.

Setting the convergence settings and the convergence plot seem all to be running ok in a normal simulation.

However when I use the selection to exclude components the refinement does not seem to work and the convergence plot is greyed out or does not update.

Is this what you expect to happen or is it an error in the software?

The reason I try to exclude geometry is because the stress is jumping across the symmetry (mirror) side of the assembly and screwing up my refinement/convergence plot.

Cheers

Corné

Hi guys,

Could somebody please run a simulation in 2018 and exclude some faces from your model and see if the convergence plot works? So i know if it is a software limitation issue or a local issue?

Much appreciated

Thank you for your reply.

I have lodged my error with our Autodesk software provider in NZ and they confirmed the same error and have send it on to Autodesk Support. But so far no reply. Interesting to see that it works well for you.

Cheers
