Inventor 2017 Twist A Fin Weldment Part Modeling

hello you all,

i am luc and i am a Student from The Netherlands. i am having a hard time find out how to make this disperse. can any of you guys help me?

In the real world that is 3 parts welded together..

I assume you are having trouble with the bottom "twisted" part..

Have you completed the other 2 pieces? The acorn nut and the piece below that already?

If so please attach them (due to a bug you need to zip them up as you can't directly attach ipt files now)  so we have something to reference for proper scale..

 

Also as Inventor is not fully backwards compatible please state the version of Inventor you are using so that if someone provides you a file you can actually open it..

Hello Luc,

Here is a very quick attempt of mine. Please see the attached file. The model is in IV2018 format.

The other two parts are pretty straight forward, I hope.

Because you have Inventor version ______ ( please fill in the blanks and see my comment above about stating your Inventor version)

No, not really... If you get IV2018 at your school - it would be easier for you to have a look at the file I sent earlier.

Hi Luc,

Here is a folder with screen shots of every step taken to model the item. I hope - it will help. From your screen shots I can tell your sketches are not fully constrained. That's not a good start in Inventor. Please talk to your lecturer and get it sorted first. Before diving into a deep end of Inventor modeling.

Hi Luc,

Here is more or less a final model for the fan. Please see the attached. In there the model represented in two stages. Flat Pattern, ready to get cut on laser cutting machine and in a final form. That's what using iParts can do for you. With iParts you can create a whole family of parts as needed. But for now - do concentrate on fundamental stuff. Fully constrained sketches are one of them.

i got this far. the only thing i cant figure out is to change te directions of the fins.(When i change th angle the hole model messes up) How do i fix it ?

I don't know. I have changed the dimension d6 to 330° and got the blades in reverse.
