Greetings All,
I am in the process of shop drawings on a rather large assembly of Stainless Steel and Glass. I have modeled everything up and am in the process of placing on drawings sheets. I have never generated shops in inventor before but the complex geometry of this project requires a 3D model so rather than generate all my views in inventor then export to CAD I want to do it all in inventor. Right now, I am able to pull dims of all the parts but I also want to reference where these parts go off of Architectural Grid Lines. If this were CAD, I would simply pull the dimension to the grid, xplode the dimension then trim the line to fit on the drawing sheet. Is there a way to do this in Inventor?
My section view is roughly 6' wide but the end of the material is another 6' away from the closest Grid. If I half my scale to fit in the grid, the material is too small to properly annotate and dimension. If I generate a sketch over the view, draw in my grid line, I can then dimension to it but the dim line is now cutting through the Title block and margins. Is there a way I can trim a dimension line or generate a false one without actually creating a new sketch and physically drawing a false dimension line?
