Inventor 2013 was working just fine until I installed SP1.1 X64.  Now it just locks up the second I try to access the application options.

Hello Rhjones,

From system, there is only one CER submited at 10/31/2012, which is afte Inventor 2013 Sp1.1 launched. This CER does not contact with any defect, it sounds a random one as you described.

Does Inventor crash in later time? Could you repeat the steps?

I'm getting the same problem.  Inventor works just fine until I click on Applications Options.  Then everything freezes.  I am using a HP laptop.

Any suggestions on what's causing this.

Hi Larren, Thank you for contacting Autodesk Product Support. First list see if it Inventor related to do so please log out and ask your IT group for the local Administrator log in. We are aware that most users have some form of administrator right but this can be different from the local administrator account. This helps point us to which direction is best to address your issue. Note: the local administrator for Windows Vista and 7 needs to be activated first before they can be used. This default account helps point us in a direction to best help address your issue. Once logged in as the local administrator of the system launch Inventor and select the application option to see if Inventor locks up. If it doesn't it points to either a permission issue or your Windows User profile is corrupt. To narrow it down further have a user with similar permission as you're that has never logged on to your system. Log in and launch Inventor and select the application options. If that user can launch the application option it the Windows User profile and it will need to be deleted and recreated (your IT group can assist you with that). If when logged on as local Administrator you can repeat the same issue when launching the application options please do a repair as the first step. To do a repair you will need to go to your Start menu select the Setting option and select Control Panel. In the Control Panel Dialog box you will select Add\Remove Programs (for XP) or Program and features (for Vista & Windows 7). In the Add\Remove Programs or Program features dialog box find and highlight your Autodesk Product. With your Autodesk Product highlighted select the Change button. This will launch the Installation Wizard, there you can select the Repair button. Please Note: You may need to have your Inventor DVD on hand depending if components need to be re-copied Give this a try and let us know the outcome of each. As LarrenSmoot said, normally this crash issue happens at the a specail use account, try to log in software as local computer's administrator to check issue still exist or not. If  issue disappared, please check the special user account profile, otherwise, could you submit the CER to analysis this issue? We could not reproduce it at our site.

Sounds to me as if something is corrupt in your user profile.  If you are comfortable editing the registry (standard disclaimers apply here), try deleting the following key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\Inventor.  This is where most of (all?) the Application Options are stored.  In addition, in your Windows User folder, try deleting everything  Inventor-related, or even everything Autodesk-related.  The next time you run Inventor, it will be like a new install as far as your settings are concerned.

Same here.  I just installed Update 2 of SP 1.1.  No help there.  This is getting frustrating!

Yes.  Anytime I try to access my application options.  From the big "I" to the Tools tab.

This worked for 2014 as well -
